Vegan Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl Banana Ice Cream

This creamy “ice cream” is simply made from frozen bananas. So easy and guilt-free! All you need is a powerful blender (this is the one I have) or processor to blend together frozen bananas, cocoa powder, and cinnamon until creamy. Slowly mix in the peanut butter for the most delicious swirls in every bite.

Eat it right away for a creamier soft-serve consistency, or freeze it for later if you prefer a more traditional scoop.

Chocolate and peanut butter, not your thing? Get creative! Try Nutella, berries, caramel or instant coffee!

Vegan Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl Banana Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 2 frozen bananas

  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 2-3 tbsp creamy peanut butter

Directions

  1. If the bananas are not yet frozen, peel them, cut into pieces, and freeze overnight.

  2. In a powerful blender or food processor, blend the chopped frozen bananas with the cocoa powder and cinnamon. It will look crumbly at first, but keep going until smooth and creamy. You may have to scrape down the sides with a spatula as you go. This process may take several minutes.

  3. Add the creamy peanut butter and blend for just 2 seconds. This will create delicious swirls of peanut butter.

  4. Enjoy immediately!

Recipe Notes:

  • If you’d like to save for later, cover and freeze. See below for what it will look like after freezing for at least 3 hours. I suggest letting it sit for a few minutes to soften a bit.
